The Use of Thermal Mass Flow Meters in ISO 50001 Energy Management Systems

Brought to you by Sage Metering Inc

With the introduction of ISO 50001, industrial plants, governmental agencies, commercial and institutional facilities are implementing continual energy management systems. These systems are designed to improve energy efficiency. The ISO 50001 standards require a facility to adopt an energy policy and follow a four-step model to implement change while continuously monitoring to improve the process.
Thermal mass flow meters are useful measurement instruments for ISO 50001 energy management systems. They can be used to measure natural gas consumption at different parts of the facility and individual combustion sources. They also are effectual at measuring compressed air and can be used to help determine and monitor compressed air leakage.
